How do I set a Target?

Set your destination, then see exactly what it takes to get there.

Updated September 22, 2026 · 2 min read

Quick answer

Click "Set vision & goals" and work through the 4-step wizard — your five-year vision, your 5-year goals, your current position, and your 1-year target. Once saved, your Targets page shows the full picture and what closing the gap requires. Click Update on any card to change it.

01

Define your five-year vision

Click "Set vision & goals" to start the 4-step wizard. First, describe what the business has become by the end of your target year, and what it's known for.

Then pick the relationship you want to have with the business — the default is "Not sure yet" if you haven't decided.

02

Set your 5-year goals

Enter the business's revenue in 5 years, then choose what you call a paying customer — Client, Customer, Member, Student, Subscriber, or User. Whatever you pick is used in every field and metric further down this page.

A banner confirms your 5-year vision is saved and shows the target year for reference.

03

Capture your current position

Enter your current revenue and what one customer is worth on average — each field has an Annually or Monthly toggle. OpMistro uses these figures to estimate your starting point.

This step doesn't ask what your target is yet — just where things stand today.

04

Set your 1-year target

Choose when the target should be reached (for example, end of next year) and enter your revenue target, with an Annually or Monthly toggle.

A live preview shows what closing the gap requires — average customer value, revenue to add, customers to add, and new customers needed per month — updating as you type. Click "Save vision and goals" when you're done.

05

Keep it up to date

Once saved, your Targets page shows your 5-year vision with an Update button, then your current position and 1-year target side by side, and what closing the gap requires — average customer value, revenue to add, customers to add, and new customers needed per month. A banner at the bottom links to "Open funnel model," a separate tab for mapping each step from prospect to customer.
